Pulled pork

One of the best ways I’ve found to make pulled pork is in my slow cooker. I love using a pork roast about 5 pounds with a light layer of fat on it. Add a cup of mesquite bbq sauce, a teaspoon of worcestershire sauce, and seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder) on top of the roast then drizzle about a teaspoon of avocado oil and 3 teaspoons of water. Let that cook on low heat (about 250°f) for roughly 5-6 hours or until fully cooked through.

Shred the meat, mix throughly in the sauce, and serve warm. I love adding it to toasted buns with some pickles and onions on top. Other ways to serve it are over a bed of cooked white rice or some jalapeño cornbread.
